Ben Bryan, 87, of Odessa went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, September 1, 2011. Ben was born on April 27, 1924 to Jack and Eva Bryan in Brownfield, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Johnnie Hope, five siblings and a great-grandson. Ben proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Army in the Pacific Theatre. He participated in New Guinea, the Philippine liberation and occupation of Japan. Reaching the rank of T5. Ben worked as a field superintendent for McVean and Barlow until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Life Change Baptist Church Odessa, TX.

He is survived by his wife Sara, son, Billy Haveman and wife Debbie of Seagraves, daughter, Joyce Simmons and husband Bill of Odessa, and son, Jimmy Haveman of Odessa.

He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Ben was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Friday, September 2, 2011 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Life Change Baptist Church with Johnny Thomason officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Funeral services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
