Dale started working for the family business, 4 Dueces Western Wear, in Lawton from 1958 until 1987. Dale met and later married Cynthia Marie Johnson on May 8, 1987. Later that year, the two opened The Fence Rail in Elgin. In 1989, The Fence Rail moved to Apache where Dale continued making and repairing saddles and boots until his health would no longer allow him to in 2001.
