Son of former mayor dies on ship bound for Florida
World has been received here of the death of Howard Champlin Munroe, 57, son of the late Alan Munroe, a former mayor of this city, on a ship bound for Ocala, Fla., Saturday. News of his death was received here by Dr. Hersey G. Locke, a relative, by telegram yesterday. No details were given in the dispatch. Mr. Munroe had been in ill health for some time, but when he left here Wednesday after a visit his condition was not serious.
Mr. Munroe’s home is in the South, but finding that the climate of Florida did not agree with him, he came to this city last August and since that time had been living with is sisters, the Misses Abby S. and Anna M. Munroe, at Marcellus.
