Theodore T. Munroe, 70, native Syracusan, but for the past 30 years a resident of Ocala, Fla., died in that city today, according to word received by relatives here. Mr. Munroe, descendant of a pioneer Syracuse family, was a banker in the Southern city.
The body will be shipped, to Syracuse through W.A. Fancher, undertaker, and services will be conducted at 2:30 o’clock Friday afternoon in the chapel of Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Albert C. Fulton, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Munroe family plot in Oakwood.
Mr. Munroe’s father was owner of one of the early flour mills in Syracuse and at that time lived in the mansion at W. Genesee and S. West sts., which later became the Crouse mansion. Mr. Munroe was born in that house.
About 30 years ago ill health forced the family to move South, and since the deceased and his brother and two sisters have been living in Ocala. Mr. Munroe founded the Munroe & Chambliss National Bank and took active part in the business up to the time of his death.
Surviving are his brother, Robert T. Munroe, and two sisters, Miss Anne and Abigail Munroe, all of Ocala; two cousins, Miss Mary Townsend and Henry D. Mann of Syracuse. The Munroe family of Camillus are also cousins.
