Arthur W. "Bill" Dobson, 83, 19 E. Tompkins St. died Wednesday at 10:08 a.m. in St. Mary's Hospital.
He was born in Buda on May 21, 1904. He married Pauline E. Murrell in Macomb on Oct. 19, 1929.
Surviving are his wife; one son, George J. Dobson, Galesburg; one daughter, Helen Yourke, Ithaca, N.Y.; one sister, Mable Verdick, Sibley, La.; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.
He was a construction worker at Gunther Construction Co. for 36 years, retiring in June 1966. He lived in Galesburg most of his life. He was former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a member of the Racing Association.
Graveside service will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Milton Marquith officiating. Friends amy call today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice, the family said.
