Mrs. Emily May McWilliams Died at Home on Feb. 4
Mrs. Emily May McWilliams passed away at her home in this city on Monday afternoon about 4:30 p.m. following an illness extending over the past several months. Mrs. McWilliams was feeling as well as usual Monday morning but in the afternoon she was taken worse and in a short time had lapsed into a coma from which she passed away. She had spent some time in the local hospital during the past year.
Emily May Morrison was born in St. Charles, Ill., on May 15, 1865, where she spent her early life. She was united in marriage on March 11, 1885, to William McWilliams at Evansville, Wis. The family came to Montana in 1913 and engaged in farming 18 miles west of Big Sandy, and continued to live there until Mr. McWilliams passed away in 1937. An only son passed away the same year. Mrs. McWilliams since that time has resided in the Loma area and some weeks ago moved to this city, where she lived with a sister, Miss Martha Morrison.
Mrs. McWilliams was loved and respected by all who knew her and her passing will be mourned by a large circle of friends. She was past 80 years of age and was always of a cheerful disposition, even in the last weeks of her illness.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Charles Ray Murray, of near Loma, and by two sisters, Miss Martha Morrison and Mrs. Zella Ketchum, of Los Angeles; two granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
Funeral services will held from the Cloyd chapel on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. Earle G. McKnight, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Interment will be made in the family plot in Riverside cemetery.
The relatives have the sincere sympathy of all in their bereavement.
