"Alton Reynold Adcock, 75, of Stamford passed away on Tuesday at the local hospital. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Brigham officiating. Following the funeral services the body was cremated.

Alton was born July 19, 1931 in San Marcos, Texas to Harold and Emma Adcock. He was raised in San Marcos attending and graduating San Marcos High School. He was also a graduate of Texas A&M University. He was a Baptist, a former member of the Lions club and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed many activities including ranching, bee keeping, marina owner and fisherman extraordinaire.

Alton married... on February 4, 1963 in Big Spring, Texas. He taught school at Lockhart for 5 years then entered in the construction business with his brother and started building houses. He continued in the construction business for the next 30 years, retiring because of health reasons. Alton then bought the Quail Creek R.V. park and marina at Lake Coleman and operated it for 8 years. They then moved to Lake Livingston and lived there until moving to Stamford 1 year ago.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Adcock of Stamford, and seven children: Donald Weldon of Georgetown, Ronald Adcock and wife Kay of Beaumont, Gary Weldon and Tommy Weldon, both of Abilene, Lana McNeil and husband Michael of San Marcos, Joe Mike Adcock and wife Leigh Anne of Allen, and Jimmy Glen Adcock and wife Tammy of Lockhart; three brothers; two sisters; 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren."
