Fred was the son of Tom J. and Mabel Fairchild Eakins. He attended schools at Flagstaff, AZ and graduated high school at Hammon, OK, in 1929. He married Amy Adams on Sept. 16, 1939 in Albuquerque, NM. He was a jeweler and watchmaker. He is survived by his wife, Amy Eakins of the home; sisters, Ramona Eakins of Bethany, OK, Iris Engle of Fairfield, CA and Fran Sutherlin and husband Ray of Bethany, OK; brothers, Jim Eakins and wife Gayle of Altus, OK, Ralh Eakins and wife Ty of Bethany, OK and Zack Eakins and wife Mildred of Oklahoma City, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Tom F. and Guy Eakins. Service was held Thursday, May 15, 1997 at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Atoka, OK. Interment was at Lehigh Cemetery in Lehigh, OK.
