Lancaster: Margaret Ruth Awalt, 94, of Lancaster, Ohio, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Fairfield Medical Center.

She was born September 28, 1918 in Fairfield County and was the daughter of the late James Russell and Iva Montana (Gardner) Duncan.

Margaret was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church on Crumley Road in Lancaster, Ohio. She was employed for many years with the J.C. Penny Company, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and working with her flowers.

She is survived by her son, Harold (Janet) Awalt of Sugar Grove, Ohio; and daughter, Nellalou (Don) Bauer of Lancaster, Ohio; six grandchildren, Tammy (Mel) Shelly, Terri (Hal) Nihiser, Tonya (Rich) Maduas, Brian (Lisa) Bauer, Greg Bauer and Jason Bauer; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Awalt; brother, Walter Duncan; and sister, Jean Beougher.

Funeral service will be held 2;00 p.m. Friday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda, Ohio with Dr. George Fry officiating.

Burial will be in Green Mound Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 12-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, c/o of Janet Awal, treasuer, 2030 Brushy Fork Road, Sugar Grove, Ohio 43155 in Margarets memory.
