Lancaster: Walter Gardner Duncan's life's journey began on May 21, 1913 and it ended peacefully on March 1, 2011 at his beloved farm.

He attended Kilbarger School a one room schoolhouse, through the eight grade. At age 13 he drove a Model T Ford to Lancaster High School where he graduated in 1930 and School Colors were Purple and Gold.

He was an avid horseman and life long dairy farmer in Fairfield County. He traveled many miles with his team of mules and will be remembered for his trick mule Snowball. He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church on Crumley road.

He is survived by his children, Nancy (Jim) Fogle of Carroll, Ohio, Dixie Klamfoth (Dick McCall) of Stoutsville, Ohio and John (Barb) Duncan of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, Brett Beougher, Jay Klamfoth, Jeff (Angela) Klamfoth, Joe (Laura) Duncan, Josh (Tish) Duncan and Jessica Anderson; step-grandsons, Tod (Mindy) Fogle and Troy (Belinda) Fogle; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Ruth Awalt of Lancaster, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Duncan; sister, Jean Beougher; and granddaughter, Victoria Stevens.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda, Ohio with Dr. George Fry officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until time of service Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions be made to the Trinity Luthersn Church, 2030 Brushy Fork Road SE, Sugar Grove, Ohio 43155 in Walter's memory.
