KILLED BY LIGHTNING BOLT
Alva Lawrence Shocked to Death Yesterday Afternoon at Ellington.
Alva Lawrence, 19 years old, son of Charles and Bertha Fits Lawrence of Ellington, was struck by lightning and instantly killed about 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The body was found four hours later. Young Lawrence was driving a load of coal to his father's sugar bush when overtaken by the storm. The horses were unconscious for nearly four hours but resuscitated.
The deceased was a cousin of Mrs. William Beers of this village.
[Note: Bertha Fits was the second wife of Charles Lawrence, step mother of Alvah.]
