In Greenmanville, Conn., Aug. 19th, 1875, of heart disease, Mr. John Edmondson, aged 72 years and 1 month. He was a native of Carlisle, Cumberland Co., Eng., and in early life a member of the Methodist Church; had been a resident in Greenmanville nearly twenty-five years, and was a quiet, exemplary Christian. He was as well as usual the day of his death, and worked some in his garden; retired at 9 and died at 10:30 o'clock, only surviving an hour after the attack. May the God of comfort sustain his stricken companion in her sudden bereavement.
