Mr. Mowery was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, and a member of V.F.W. in Akron. A graduate of Stow High School, he retired from O'Neils Department Store after 45 years as a sales clerk.
Survivors include sisters, Rita Weinkie of Lake Oswego, Oregon, June Webb of Dallas, Texas, Joan Carpenter of Lancaster, Ohio; brother, F. Wayne Mowery of Phoenix, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by parents, Ernest M. and Dorothy D. (Persinger) Mowery Sr., and sister, Marilyn Bell.
There will not be any calling hours or funeral service held. A graveside service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Burial has taken place at Forest Rose Cemetery in Lancaster, Ohio. Sheridan Funeral Home in Lancaster in charge of arrangements.
