Laura May Solomon, 84, widow of Forrest Solomon, died Saturday at the Columbus Convalescent center where she had been a patient since October, 1973.
She had been in failing health for 1 1/2 years. She had lived on Hope route 2.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Reed funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Ed Miller assisted by the Rev. Gerald Stitt. Burial will be at Garland Brook cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be until 9 o'clock tonight.
Mrs. Solomon was born in Bartholomew county Aug. 8, 1899, to Amos and Martha Harrison Holtz. She was married to Ralph Miller in 1909, and he died in 1920. She then was married to Forrest Solomon in 1926. and he died Aug. 11, 1970. She was a member of the Petersville United Methodist church.
Survivors include one son, George F. Solomon of Hope route 2; two daughters, Velma Harris of 3118 26th and Ethel Moore of Indianapolis; one sister, Viola Brant of the Four Seasons Retirement home; six grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
