William "Pat" King, 81, formerly of rural Canton, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday (Dec.30, 1983) in Mercer Hospital, Davenport, Iowa. Mr. King was born Oct. 28, 1902, in Clark County, Mo., a son of William Patrick and Belle Ryan King. He married Nellie J. McDermott Nov. 14, 1923, in St. Patrick, Mo. She died June 15, 1981. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton, and the St. Patrick Knights of Columbus Council 2526, in which he was a Past Grand Knight. He was also a member of the Western Catholic Union. Surviving are four daughters, Mary Jones of San Francisco, Calif., Mrs. Paul (Callie) Boudreau, Mrs. Bernard (Geneva) Wiegand and Marge King, all of Davenport, Iowa, and Mrs. James (Kathy) Hesse of Rock Island, Ill.; a sister, Loretta Mollring of Quincy; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, a son and a sister. Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton, conducted by the Rev. James Wheeler. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. Davis Funeral Chapel of Canton is in charge of arrangements.
