Virginia Matheson Allison, 74, formerly of Lenoir, died on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at Magnolia Lane Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Morganton following years of declining health.
She was born Sept. 25, 1936, in Caldwell County to the late Grady Lee Matheson and Virginia Ruth Church Matheson.
She was a member of East Hudson Baptist Church. She retired from Service America and was known for her great cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Allison.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Elaine Rash, and her husband, Danny, of Lenoir; a sister, Barbara Ann Hawkins, of Lenoir; two brothers, Gary Lee Matheson and Richard Dale Matheson, both of Lenoir; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grand-children and a number of nieces and nephews.
Burial will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
