Services for Dewey M. "Bud" Crew, 86, Troup, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Henry's Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Henry's Chapel Cemetery under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Mr. Crew died Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, in Tyler. He was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Orange to the late Walter Dewey and Dessie Wallace Crew. He graduated from Orange High School and attended Lamar University.

A member of the U.S. Army infantry, he was a veteran of World War II serving in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He retired from the Chevron (Gulf) Refinery, Port Arthur.

Mr. Crew married Inez Barron, Nov. 1, 1951. She preceded him in death April 7, 1997.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded by a brother, Walter Alonzo Crew.

Survivors include son, Jay Crew, Troup; stepbrother, William 'Bill' Dunn, Orange; stepsister, Bonnie Dean, Orange; and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be M.J. Florence, Larry Florence, Wes Barron, James Branham, Bill Clem and Andy Tarver.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Henry's Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Susan Martin, 4397 Farm-to-Market 13 East, Troup, 75789.
