- Death of Robert S. Bowerlng. -
Seldom are we called upon to chronicle so sorrowful an event as that of the death of Robert S. Bowering, second son of Prof. A.B. Bowering, which occurred Wednesday, June 6th, 1894, at 4:20 P. M., after a week's illness He was born June 14th, 1875, and was therefore about completing his 19th year when his bright and promising life was brought to a close, and a gloom cast over the hearts and home of a happy family, and the hopes and expectations of parents and grandparents, centered in this boy, were suddenly blasted. He was endowed by nature with a bright mind, and possessed both musical and mechanical talent in an unusual degree. Reticent and retiring in his disposition, his gifts and talents were only known to those intimately associated with him.
The funeral services will take place from the Baptist Church this (Friday) evening at 4 o'clock. The pallbearers will be taken from his large Sunday school class, taught by Hon. H.F. Crismond, and the school, of which the father of the deceased is the beloved superintendent, will attend the funeral.
Also Bowering's Band, of which the deceased was a popular member, will, in a body, follow the remains of their comrade to their last resting place.
In common with this entire community, we extend our sincerest sympathies to the bereaved family.
The Free Lance - June 8, 1894.
