PITTSBURG — PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — Ethel Katherine Patrick, 80, of Punta Gorda, Fla., died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at Harbour Health Center, Port Charlotte, Fla.
Mrs. Patrick was born July 17, 1931, in Kansas City, Mo., to Floyd and Ruby (Bain) Ligon.
She grew up in Pittsburg and was a Pittsburg High School graduate. She had pleasant memories of her school years and maintained friendships with many of her classmates.
She worked as a telephone operator before marrying Jerry Dennis Patrick, who was serving in the U.S. Air Force. The couple lived in the Washington, D.C., area for many years and three years in Japan. They moved to the Punta Gorda area 23 years ago from Dunkirk, Md.
Survivors include her loving husband, Jerry D. Patrick, of the home; a son, Kelly Patrick, Waldorf, Md.; a daughter, Judith (Timothy) McNair, Gainesville, Mo.; four grandsons, Anthony McNair, Eric McNair, Matthew Patrick and Christopher Patrick; and four-plus great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Betty Fortune, and a brother, Arthur Hester.
Inurnment will be at a later date in Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Md.
Arrangements are by the Paul Schelm Funeral Home, Lake Suzy, Fla.
