Butterfly Rose was a male cat, but when my daughter was just three years old, she named this tiny, little stray baby cat with a girl's name. Little did we know....but, it turns out that Butterfly Rose had maternal instincts after all. He actually played "mother" to at least three of our baby cats through the years and let them nestle next to him. Butterfly nearly died several times from kidney malfunctions, but we nursed him back to health each time! He finally lost his life to this kidney disease, but not until he lived a wonderful and precious 14 years! He was a fantastic cat and lives within our hearts still!
