LeRoy Gobis, age 67, died on Tuesday, August 25, 1987 at his home in Sun Prairie after a long illness. He was born on June 27, 1920. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving from 1941-1945. In 1948, he graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. degree In Ceramic Engineering. He was employed by the Wisconsin Porcelain Co. for 20 years in Sun Prairie and retired in 1986. On June 14, 1958, he married the former Wanita Adair in MacComb, IL. Mr. Gobis was a member of the Elks and the American Ceramic Society. Survivors include his father, Alex of La Crosse, WI; a son, Daniel L. McMillan of Morris, IL; a daughter, Judith Ann Jenot of Carey, OH; two sisters, Helen Weisse of La Crosse, WI and Betty Foss of Mont Clair, CA; a brother, Harvey Gobis of Menomonee Falls, WI; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara in 1953; and his wife, Wanita in 1978. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, at 11:00 a.m. at the Tuschen Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St., Sun Prairie. Father J. Gibbs Clauder will officiate. Burial will be in Sun Prairie Memory Garden. Friends may call at the Tuschen Funeral Home from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. Capital Times 8/27/1987
