She was preceded in death by her parents, William McKinley and Hattie Johnson Henson; her husband, Robert Afton Neal; grandson, Mark Terry, and siblings, R.D., Joe, Gladys, Hazel, Elizabeth, Shirley, and Pat.
She was a member of Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church. She retired from Blountville Middle School after 39 years as a cafeteria worker.
Survivors include two sons, William Rhea Neal and wife, Judy of Bluff City, TN and Robert Wayne Neal and wife, Pat of Bristol, TN; three brothers, Otis Henson, Kemp Henson and Ray Henson; three grandchildren, Robby Neal, Chris Neal and Greg Hopkins; three great-grandchildren, Jake Neal, Sidney Neal and Brandi Soto and one great-great-grandchild, Mayson Soto.
The family would like to give a special thanks and love to all the staff of Greystone Health Care especially 3rd floor, Janice, Whitney and Heather, and her personal physician, Dr. Tom Townsend and the Untied Methodist Women.
The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M., Monday, April 18, 2011 in Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Reed officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Strouth, Matt Strouth, Robby Neal, Jake Neal, Chris Neal, Craig Morrell, Chris Gibson and Randall Cross. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Hopkins, Dick Edwards and Howard Tester. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Monday prior to the service at Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church.
