SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR MRS HORNE
Funeral services for Mrs Emma Pope Horne who passed away Friday morning at Colquitt County Memorial Hospital were held Monday afternoon in the chapel of Greene-Gregory Funeral Home, with interment at Westview Cemetery. The Rev Leaman Thomas of Memorial Baptist Church officiated.
Mrs Horne was 100 years old. She was born May 30 1877 in Rochelle, Wilcox County, Georgia anh had lived in Colquitt County Ga., for 40 years.
Pallbearers were Gary Horne, Calvin Horne, Russell Horne, John Horne, Jimmy Horne, and Vernon Horne.
Emma Pope Horne was the daughter of the late Wiley Preston Pope and the late Frances "Fannie" Jane Brady Pope. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son Johnny Horne of Bradenton, Florida; three daughters, Mrs Sarah Martin of West Columbia, S.C., Mrs Mary Frances "Fannie" Horne Carter and Mrs Dora L Horne Winters both of Moultrie, Ga.; six sisters, Mrs Martha Pope Jones, Mrs Susie Pope Tally, Mrs Laura Pope Lovett, Mrs Dona Lee Pope McDuffie and Mrs Della Mae Pope Rhodes all of Pine View, Georgia
