His great grandfather was Michael Franks,imigrated from Eilsen, Germany with his wife and four child, Jacob, Michael, Catherine (wife of Baccus) and Henry (the last died at sea on the voyage), and settled in Fayette County, PA, after a brief stay in Baltimore, MD. Son Jacob of Michael,I married in Fayette County, PA., Barbara Brandenburg, and they along brother Michael (2) started Jacobs Lutheran Church in Fayette County, PA. Barbara Brandenburg lived to be 98. Jacob and Barbara Brandenburg and Great Grandfather Michael,I died in Fayette County, PA. He came to Wayne county, and was raising a barn in 1816, he had 170 1/2 acres of land, Husband of Julia Ann Fletcher Franks, wife of Peter died May 7, 1871. They had 9 children, some stayed in Wayne County, and some went to De Kalb County, Indiana and Iowa. He is my 3rd great grandfather.
