John Smith (1760-1835) was married to Catherine Livengood Smith (1761-1845). Catherine Livengood Smith was a sister of Sarah Livengood Franks (1768-1857).

Ann's father, Jacob Franks, died on 28 Aug 1836. Ann and Job moved to Ohio about 1837. Her mother, Sarah, stayed in Fayette County quite a few more years, living with her son, Solomon Franks, When Solomon died in 1848, Sarah lived with her granddaughter, Matilda Franks Alton. Sarah eventually moved to Wayne County, OH (after 1850), to be near children, Peter Franks & Catherine Franks Bonewitz. Sarah died here in 1857. Job's parents, John Dunaway & Mary VanHorn Dunaway, were in German, Fayette County, PA on 7 Aug 1820 for the census. They moved to Washington Township, Guernsey County, OH before 1827. John Dunaway paid taxes in Washington Twp., Guernsey, Oh in 1827. John Dunaway died there about 1830 and Mary VanHorn Dunaway died there about 1840.

Ann and Job's third child, Thomas B., was born in OH in 1838. The other children were all born in Marion Township, Hocking County, OH. In 1840 Job was buying 40 acres of land in Pleasant Township, Hardin County, OH, but soon moved to Marion Township, Hocking County, OH and were there for the 1840 census and 1850 census. A son was born here in 1851 and they named him Rezin Franks Dunaway. Ann's brother, Rezin Franks, was at Thorn Township, Perry County, OH, about 19 miles away. Ann and Job stayed at Marion, OH until 1855 when they moved to Jasper County, Iowa.

In July of 1864, Job went to Seward County, Nebraska, preparing a homestead in order to bring the family, but he died in September. Thomas B. Dunaway, his family and mother Ann Franks Dunaway and her younger children, came to Seward County in April of 1865 and took over the homestead and possessions of Job Dunaway. Her son, George E. Dunaway and family came to Seward County a few years later, and her daughter Mary Ann Dunaway Hickman and family came to Seward County in 1868. About 1875 Thomas Dunaway & family moved to Iowa. About this time Ann went to Wisconsin with her son George Dunaway and family. They came back to Nebraska between 5 Oct 1881 - 1 June 1885. Ann went to stay with her son Rezin Franks Dunaway at Bennet, Lancaster County, Nebraska. George and his family went to Brown County, Nebraska (Brown becomes Rock County in 1888).
