Born on March 12, 1937, in Yeagertown, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth L. and Luella (Snook) Amspacker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. "Sonny" McCahan, who died on Jan. 30, 1998.
Dee leaves behind a son and daughter, Matthew S. McCahan of Port Royal and Mrs. James (Cheri) Bogart of Glen Rock.
She also leaves behind a brother, Dallas Amspacker of Yeagertown and three grandchildren, Alec, Justin and Zachary Bogart.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Amspacker.
Dee was a graduate of Chief Logan High School, Yeagertown. She was a member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church, the Port Royal Literary Guild and the Port Royal Book Club.
A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Charles L. Hershberger officiating.
Interment was held at Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
Viewing took place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, at the funeral home.
