He was born October 10, 1880, at Shirleysburg RD, a son of the late William H. and Mary (Curtis) Bard, and married Lulu Mae Harris on October 13, 1904, in the Orbisonia Methodist parsonage. His wife died October 31, 1957.
Mr. Bard was employed as an engineer by the Tuscarora Oil Co., having retired several years ago. Surviving are five children: Lawrence and Mrs. Nevin Love, Jr. of Shirleysburg; Mrs. Frieda Shelly of Holidaysburg; Mrs. Wade Brandt of Sharon and Mrs. Eleanor Gentzler of York. 14 grandchildren and a brother Harry of Shirleysburg.
Mr. Bard was a member of Orbisonia Lodge, F & AM, and a charter member of the Shirleysburg Lions Club. Friends will be received at the Clark Funeral home, Mt. Union after noon tomorrow.
