DEATH OF HATTIE BRIMMER
Died on Saturday, May 17, 1890, Hattie Elida Brimmer, daughter of Porter and Elizabeth Brimmer, aged 36 years, 5 months and 11 days.
Miss Brimmer was born in Saukville, Ozaukee county, Wisconsin, December 6, 1853. She came with her parents to Lucas county, Iowa, a few miles north of Humeston, six years ago. She was the oldest of the family of eleven children, five of whom preceded her to the future world. Four brothers and one sister, Mrs. Kindal, survive her, all of whom were present except one brother who is in Idaho.
She was a great sufferer, having been afflicted with lung trouble for more than fifteen years, always manifesting much patience, and ever fearing to make trouble or work for her numerous friends.
Two years ago she was baptized by Elder Cornell, confessing her faith in the burial and resurrection of Christ, which was witnessed by many. She had unwavering faith, anxiously waiting to hear her master's call to come up and enjoy the home prepared in Heaven for her.
She suffered much the last two weeks of her life, having several strokes of paralysis. She talked kindly to her brothers, giving them excellent advice for the future, and passed consciously away with much suffering.
The funeral was largely attended at the home of the deceased, the services being conducted by Rev. A. H. Chase, and she was laid to rest in the cemetery north of town.
