Barney Baker Died Sunday
Barney M. Baker,56,died at his home Sunday in Glennville after a long illness.
The Tattnall County native was a veteran of World War II and a retired Civil Service employee.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mable Baker of Glennville; a son, Ronald Baker of Glennville; a daughter, Mrs. Connie Lee Williamson of Glennville; three brothers, Leland and Luther Baker, both of Glennville and R.E. Baker of Reidsville; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Glennville Church of Christ, conducted by Ministers M.R. Wright and Eldridge Kicklighter. Burial was in the Beard's Creek Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Cameron Smiley, Buddy Roberts, Felton Blocker, J.V. Hearn, W.A. Bacon and Aubrey Futch.
Honorary pallbearers were Leon Odum, Parker Thompson, D.A. Tootle, Bob North, and David Johnson.
Rimes Mortuary of Glennville was in charge.
