Elizabeth Jane Grigsby was the daughter of Nathaniel B Grigsby 1805 – 1859 and Elizabeth Jane Louderback 1808 – 1871. Her siblings were: John Grigsby 1825; Minerva Grigsby 1831; Henry Grigsby 1834 – 1891; Winnifred Grigsby 1838; Samuel Grigsby 1840 – 1897; Lavina Grigsby 1842 – 1890; Serena Grigsby 1842; James David Grigsby 1849 – 1889 and Jesse Grigsby 1893.

About 1863 Elizabeth became the bride of Erasmus Quiency Beck. Children born to them were: Sarah J Beck, she married Lewis Dolman McGuffin and had 7 children. She is buried in the Brown Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, in Mosheim, Greene County, Tennessee; John K Beck, he married Ambrosia Harris and had 6 children; Mary Elizabeth "Mollie" Beck, she married Mack Sherman Price and had 8 children. She is buried in Fort Cobb, Caddo County, Oklahoma, at the Fort Cobb Cemetery; Robert Nathaniel Beck, he married Eliza Bell Harris and they had 11 children. He is buried in the Tulare Cemetery, Tulare Tulare Co., California; James Edgar Beck, he married Mattie Ellen Byrumn and had 8 children. He is buried in Athens, McMinn Co., Tennessee, in the Sullins Cemetery; and Henry Ellis Beck, he married Mattie Beck and they had 5 children. He is buried at Mosheim, Greene Co., Tennessee, at the Big Spring Cemetery.

Shortly after Elizabeth and Erasmus married they moved to Saint Clair, Hawkins Co., Tennessee, That was where her Children were born.

April 13,1890 was a very sad day for Quince, his beloved Elizabeth Jane Grigsby had passed away. He gathered his family and friend at the Courtney Cemetery where he selected a burial plot for his dear wife to bid her to Rest in Peace. (Bio by Audrey DeCamp Hoffman)
