Christopher David Borger, 34, of Granite city, Illinois, passed away at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City. He was born March 4, 1977 in Granite City. He had worked as an insurance inspector. Christopher had a special love of music and enjoyed playing the guitar and drums. He will be remembered for his love and special times shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Anita G. (Schmidt) and Richard Haines of Germany; his father and stepmother, A. Scott and Margie Borger of St. Louis; two sisters, Danielle and Marisa Haines of Germany; grandmother, Marie Borger of Bethalto; many aunts; uncles; cousins; other extended family; a host of friends and his beloved dog, Jasmine. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur Borger and Walter and Elsie Schmidt.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville road in Granite City on thursday, August 25, 2011 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2011 with Father Chris Comerford officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials may be made to support your local animal shelter or to a charity of one's choice and may be accepted at the funeral home.
