Funeral service for Esther Ford, 78, will be Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Brother Ryan Childers officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state at the church 1 hour before the service.
Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 22, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ford died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at her daughter's residence in Decatur. She was born February 11, 1933, in Morgan County to Roy Edgar Griffin and Ida Lee Tapscott Griffin. She was a member of Andersonville Baptist Church in Anderson, S.C.
Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Langley of Hartselle, Deborah Busby of Anderson, S.C.; and Rebecca Miller of Somerville; two sisters, Lilla Mae Turner of Franklin, Tenn. and Mattie Olene Kelly of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Nick Langley, Zachery Merriman, Jacob Merriman, Michael Truss, Brandon Truss and Winston McCuen.
