C. T. Lillethun
Died at his home in our village, Wednesday, June 10th, C. T. Lillethun, aged 75 years, 2 months and 25 days. The cause of death was cancer of the stomach, from which he had been suffering since last February.
Mr. Lillethun was born in Norway on March 15, 1839 and came to this country with his family in 1874 settling in Otter Tail County, Minnesota, where he farmed until 1888, when he moved to North Dakota where he resided on a farm southwest of Fingal until he moved into town a few years ago.
He was a man of excellent habits, fine moral character, and sturdy constitution, and he continued to be active in his accustomed pursuits until long past the age at which men ordinarily drop out of the ranks of the workers. To this end there is no doubt that his sunny disposition largely contributed. He was invariably a good neighbor, and there was no happier family circle in the land, than his. The grief that is felt over the close of his long career is wide-spread and sincere. His best monument will be the good report that he has left behind him in the community in which he has lived for more than twenty-five years.
He was a faithful member of the Norwegian Lutheran Church and was not only faithful to his church but just as faithful in believing that it was his duty as a Christian to do the will of his Master at all times,
He leaves to mourn their loss a loving and faithful wife, and four sons, Tom, Chris, Knute and Albert.
Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock this forenoon in the Lutheran Church here, Reverend Struxness officiating, and interment made in Hill Side Cemetery.
