FRANK BLAS SERRANO of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away in his sleep on August 18, 2011. Born in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, on February 3, 1925, to Simon & Petrita Serrano, he graduated from Santa Rosa High School and The University of Texas at El Paso. He was also a proud member of the Army Air Corps. He devoted nearly 35 years with Sears Roebuck International, where he worked as a senior executive overseeing credit operations, beginning his professional career in El Paso, and continuing at such overseas locations as Caracas, Venezuela; Panama City, Panama; & Brussels, Belgium. He retired from Sears in 1984, and settled with his wife in The Woodlands.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ofelia Izquierdo, brothers, Luciano Serrano of Albuquerque, Simon Serrano of Albuquerque, Luis Serrano of Borger, Texas; sisters, Erlinda Sanchez of Albuquerque, & Zulema Nichols of Santa Rosa. He is survived by his brothers, Adolfo, Zoilo, Charlie, Bobby, his sister, Alice; his daughters, Sandra S. Cope, Mona Hoefer & husband Robert; sons, Frank Jr. and wife Kathy, Peter, and Ted T. and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Ryan, Chrissy, and Michelle Cope, Danielle & Sean Hoefer, and Alex Serrano; great grandchildren, Madison and Skylar; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a member of St. Simon Jude Catholic Church in The Woodlands.

A funeral mass is set for 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 26777 Glen Loch, The Woodlands, TX 77380. Interment will follow at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Forest Park The Woodlands Chapel, with a rosary service at 6:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or via their website at http://www.stjudetribute.org/.
