Amy L. Nidey, daughter of Timothy and Lucinda Thompson Nidey was born July 12, 1869 in Jay County, Indiana and passed away Sept. 24, 1956 at the Davis County Hospital at the age of 87 years, 2 months and 12 days. Mrs. Garner came to Davis County at the age of one year with her parents in a covered wagon and lived on the farm where her parents settled near Floris until their death. She then made her home with her brother John, in and near Floris until his death. Most of her life since that time has been spent in nursing homes. She was 77 years old when her marriage took place Jan. 10, 1947 at Unionville, Iowa. The bridegroom was 85 year old Ted Garner, who preceded her death, as did her parents, two sisters and a brother. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and step-children. She was a long time member of the Primitive Baptist Church at Eldon, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Sept. 26th at 2:00 P.M. at the Curl Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Harold Garcutt. Interment was in the Pearce Cemetery east of Floris.
