SHELBY - Miss Rachel Dianne Russ, 50, of 4138 Fallston Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at home.
She was born Jan. 2, 1956, in Cleveland County and was the daughter of Grace Ridings Russ of Shelby and the late Irvin Matthew Russ. She retired after 28 years as an LPN with Cleveland Regional Medical Center, where she was a loving and devoted nurse on the Women´s and Children´s Services floor. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by son, Jackie Russ of Gastonia; daughter, Crystal Russ of the home; brothers, Richard Russ and wife, Judy, of Kings Mountain and Garland Russ of Shelby; sisters, Wanda Marks and husband, Kevin, of Shelby and Sandra Self and husband, Harley, of Ellenboro; four grandchildren, Jacob, Katie and Mikayla Russ and Lucas Earls; and nieces and nephews, Seanna, Chesley, Matthew, Christopher, Josh, Jaylen, Dylan and Hunter.
The memorial service is Friday at 11 a.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Len Byers officiating. Burial is private.
The family will receive friends at the home of her mother, Grace Russ, 4251 Fallston Road, Shelby.
