Obituary:
LONGS - Rufus Oneil Adams, 79, of Highway 31, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999, at Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Columbia after an illness.

He was born in Horry County, a son of the late John P. and Effie J. Hardee Adams.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and saw combat action in the Philippines. He was a member of Tilly Swamp Baptist Church and was a retired farmer.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John O. and Sharon L. Adams, both of Longs; two brothers, John Quince Adams of Longs and Larue W. Adams of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Clara Adams of Lumberton, N.C.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Tilly Swamp Baptist Church. Burial will be in Edge Cemetery.
