Albert's father ran a blacksmith shop in Mayville, WI with a man by the name of Albert Gerlach. Albert Gerlach was the namesake and sponsor of Albert I Greiner. Albert Gerlach was also a prankster, and is the one who's soley responsible for Albert Greiner being given the middle name of "Ignatius" ... Gerlach did it as a lark at the church altar.

Albert Greiner, town Theresa farmer, died Dec. 26 at St. Agnes hospital following and illness of seven weeks. He was 82.

He was born June 21, 1886 in town Theresa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Greiner. On Apr. 4, 1910, he married Lydia Moser in Sts. Peter and Paul church, Nenno. He farmed in town Theresa all his life.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Howard Greiner, town Theresa; one daughter living in West Bend; five sisters, Mrs. Josephine Krings, Winneconne, Mrs. George Steger, Theresa, Mrs. Ida Weber, Bonduel, Mrs. Martha Chase, Fond du Lac, and Mrs. Florence Cummings, Chicago; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Charles Loehr officiated at funeral services conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Theresa Catholic church, Theresa. The Beck Funeral Home handled arrangements. Burial was in St. Theresa cemetery.
