W.H. Hobby Dies; Funeral Held Monday
Fitzgerald—Funeral services for William Henry Hobby, 83, who died at the Colony Home on Saturday following a long illness, were held Monday at 11 a.m. at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the New River cemetery in Tift County. Mr. Hobby, a retired textile employee, was the son of the late Jesse and Lydia Young Hobby. He was a member of Lake View Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Pinky Willis Hobby of Fitzgerald; three sons, R.L. Hobby of Fitzgerald, W. B. Hobby of Newport News, Va., and J.C. Hobby of Hampton, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Ola Rogers of Fitzgerald; two brothers, Rube Hobby of Tifton and George Hobby of Lakeland; three sisters, Mrs. Nan Turner of Macon, Mrs. Jane Brown of Poulan and Mrs. Polly Jordan of Fitzgerald; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
