Louis H. Bergstedt, one of the oldest and most substantial residents of Range died at the Miller Hospital, St. Paul on Thursday, Sept. 9th, aged 79 years, 11 months. Deceased was born in Stockholm, Sweden, October 9, 1846 and immigrated to this country when a young man settling on the farm near Range when that country was in its infancy.

He is survived by his sorrowing wife; four sons, William of Amery; Charles of Hines; Albert of Eveleth, Minn.; and Herbert of Blawley, Calif.; and four daughters, Mrs Clara Coler, Amery; Mrs. Emma Smidth, Murdock, Minn; and Anna Bergstedt and Mrs. Elma Harris, of St. Paul. One daughter, Ida died at the age of 13 years.

Nine grandchildren and one great grand child and a wide circle of friends also survive. The funeral was held from the home at two o'clock and from the Range Swedish Lutheran church at 2:30, Saturday, Sept. 11th and the remains interred at that place. Rev. Sholander officiating. C.W. Stenberg funeral director in charge. Mr. Bergstedt had lived in the community upwards of forty years and commanded the respect of all who knew him.
