Elma J. Harris was born June 8, 1893 in the town of Beaver, Polk county, the daughter of Louis and Clara Bergstedt. She was baptized and confirmed at Elim Lutheran church in Range and was married to Charles Harris in the 1920's. Not long after their marriage, he was killed and she has lived in St. Paul where she worked as secretary for many years. Recently, she had been living at St. Paul's Church Home in that city.
Elma Harris died Saturday, Feb. 17, at St. Joseph's hospital, St. Paul. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles; brothers, William, Charles, Albert and (Victor)Herbert; sisters, Clara Coler, Emma Schmidt and Anna Bergstedt. Nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends survive.
