22 June 1951 - Humboldt Republican - "Michael Lindemann was born March 15, 1860 in Machtlos, Germany, a son of Diederich and Dine Lindemann. He passed away at the Lovering nursing home June 14, 1951, at the age of 91 years, two months, and 29 days.
Mr. Lindemann's parents passed away in his early childhood. He was educated at Essen, Germany, graduating from the school there at the age of 14 years. After graduation, he engaged in coal mining until 1883, when he came to America and settled in Benton county, Iowa.
July 15, 1887, he was united in marriage to Lizzie Schmidt; nine children were born to this union. In 1888, the Lindemanns moved to Humboldt county, where they farmed until they moved to their home in Humboldt in 1919. He received his citizenship Sept. 23, 1889, and treasured it greatly.
He was preceded in death by his wife; one daughter, Martha; and two sons, Conrad and John Lindemann.
He leaves to mourn his passing three daughters and three sons: Anna Verbrugge, Mary Lindemann, Henry Lindemann, Carl Lindemann, of Humboldt; and Lizzie Scholten, Rockford, Ill; Herman Lindemann of Algona. He also leaves eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, besides several nephews and nieces. -- Contributed."
