Nathan Nathaniel Drake, 79, 104 South Washington St, Wakarusa, died at 5:45 pm Saturday, Oct 4, at his home. He had been ill the past two years.

Mr Drake was born in Bremen Nov 24, 1895, to William Ben and Cora (Rowe) Drake.

His first wife, the former Sadie Schrock Stealy, whom he married in September, 1920, died July 11, 1967.

On Aug 9, 1968, he married Mary E Sarber Hoover, who survives.

Mr Drake was a veteran of World War I, serving in France, and a former member of the VFW Post in Elkhart.

He was a 20-year employee of the Wisler Packing Co and also farmed in Harrison Township. For the past six years he assisted his son as a clock repairman for the Drake Jewelry Store, Wakarusa.

Surviving with Mrs Drake are a son, Floyd, Wakarusa; two step-sons, Albert Stealy, Jimtown, and Arthur Stealy, Goshen, a step-daughter, Mrs Edward (Dorothy) Maust, Foraker; two granddaughters; 15 stepgrandchildren; 30 stepgreat-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs William (Fannie) Loucks, Garrett, and Mrs Stanley (Dorcas) Ritenour, North Manchester.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 pm Tuesday, Oct 7, at the Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren, of which Mr Drake was a member, with the Rev Glen Whisler and Elder Elias Sarber officiating. Burial was in Yellow Creek Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren.
