Services for Mrs. Edith Ann Jones Barr, age 62, of Shreveport, La will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 14, 1990 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Argile Smith, Pastor of Trinity Heights Baptist Church. Burial will be at Mount Lebanon Cemetery; services will be a 3 p.m. Monday, May 14, 1990, officiated by the Rev. Larry Joyner, Pastor of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.
She died Saturday May 12, 1990 at Schumpert Medical Center following a sudden illness. She was a native of Saline, La and a resident of Shreveport for 35 years. She was a retired Caddo Parish teacher. She was a member of Trinity Heights Baptist Church and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University.
Mrs. Barr is survived by her husband, John B. Barr of Shreveport; mother, Mrs. Grady E. Jones of Ruston, La; one son and daughter-in-law, J. Baker Barr, Jr. and Kathleen (Tookie) of Shreveport; one daughter and son-in-law, Ann B. and Joey Allen of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Leta Marie Jones Stratton of Ruston and Janell J. Goss of Plano, Texas; five grandchildren, Trey Toups, Beth Allen, John Barr III, Erin Barr, and Brian Barr; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Robert Aillet, Ed Jolley, Charles “Hoss” Newman, C.A. “Mike” Reed, Leo Sanford, and S.H. Shocklee.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home between the hours of 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 1990. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Heights Education Fund, Louisiana Tech Alumni Association, or to the charity of donor’s choice.
