Forrest F. Beachy, 84, of Grantsville RD 2, Md., died June 29, 1981 in Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born at Webster, S.D., he was a son of the late Joel A. and Etta (Livengood) Beachy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace A. (Kamp) Beachy.

Mr. Beachy was a retired farmer, a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Grantsville, a World War I veteran and a charter member of American Legion Post 214.

Surviving are one son, Kenneth Beachy of Grantsville RD 2; three daughters: Mrs. Bernice Merrill, of Grantsville RD 2; Mrs. Helen Bernhard of Iverness, Fla.; and Mrs. Wanda Sheffield, of Grantsville RD 2; five brothers: Walter A. Beachy and Irvin Beachy, both of Wilkinsburg; Vernon Beachy and John Beachy, both of Grantsville; and Roy Beachy of Berlin; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Bittinger of Akron, Ohio; Mrs. June Beckett of Iverness, Md., and Mrs. Evelyn Hewitt of Grantsville; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home. A service was held at St. John's Church with the Rev. Douglas Garland officiating. Interment was in Grantsville Cemetery. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Northern Garrett County Rescue Squad. [The Republic, Somerset Co., PA - July 8, 1981]
