Mrs. Barnes was born in Suffolk and was the widow of Walter M. Barnes. She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include two sons, Walter F. Barnes of Virginia Beach and James F. Barnes of Norfolk; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren.
The graveside service will be Wednesday, Jan. 25, 1995 at 2 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will be at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel Tuesday night from 7 to 8 p.m.
