William Tettlo "Bill" Parks was born December 20, 1917 in Eldorado,
Oklahoma, the fifth child of 10 children, of Pearle Lee Crabtree and
Phillip Henry Parks. He went to be with the Lord on February 28,
2005 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years, 2 month and 8
days.

Bill started school at Okla Beach. He moved with his family to the
home northwest of Reydon on January 12, 1929. He attended Midway and
Rankin before being a part of the first class to graduate from Reydon
High School in 1937. He attended Weatherford State Teachers College.
In 1938 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served his
country for the next eight years during World War II where he was
stationed in the South Pacific. He was married to Helen Gladys
Miller at Arnett, Oklahoma on March 25, 1941. After his discharge
from the Marine Corps as a Master Sergent in 1946 he returned to
Reydon where he farmed and operated a cafe. On June 30, 1950 he
enlisted in the United States Army and continued to serve his country
during the Korean War and the Vietman Conflict in Japan and Korea
before returning to the United States at Fort Bliss and later was a
reruiter at Big Spings and Oldessa, Texas. In 1959 he was stationed
in Germany until his retirement in 1962 when he and Helen returned on
the USS America. He was discharged as a Master Sergeant at Ft.
Hamilton, New York in 1962 and they returned to Reydon where they
made their home on Helen's grandparents, Emory and Susan Snyder
Millers' homeplace. In June of 1965, Bill began working for the US
Forrest Service before being appointed Postmaster. In 1968 he
returned to the Forrest Service and retired in 1979. Helen preceded
him in death in 1984 and Bill moved to Elk City, Oklahoma in July of
2002 to live with his son.

He was a member of the Reydon Methodist Church since August of 1948.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 sisters and 3
brothers.

Survivors include 1 son William Miller "Billy" Parks of Elk City,
Oklahoma; 1 sister, Nadia Martin of Reydon, Oklahoma; 3 brothers Lee
Parks of Canadian, Texas, Byron Parrks of Montrose, Colorado and Dick
Parks of Reydon, Oklahoma; 1 grandson Billy Allen Parks of Broken
Arrow, Oklahoma; 2 great grandchildren, Brandyn Parks and Bretty
Parks and a host of other relatives and friends.
