John B. Underwood died of a heart attack Thursday, March 21, 2002, at Evergreen Inn. He was 65. Mr. Underwood was born Dec. 25, 1936, in Flint, Mich. He lived at the Evergreen Inn for the past 61/2 years. A veteran of the Marine Corps, he worked as a truck driver for an area lumber mill. He loved traveling, camping, fishing, watching old movies and television, and eating grapefruit. Mr. Underwood also liked visiting with anyone who came to the Evergreen Inn. Survivors include one brother and six sisters. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Evergreen Inn. Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
