Larry Dean Allen, 71, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 11:36 am, Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL, surrounded by his family.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 East Northline Road, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Jason Braaten officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Burial will be in the Lewis Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL

Larry was born on July 27, 1940 in Mansfield, IL, the son of Adas E. and Beatrice Floyd Allen. He married Sharon M. Dallas on December 27, 1959 in Tuscola, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are three children: son: Bruce Allen of Villa Grove, daughters: Candy (George) Crawford of Tuscola and DeDe (Jason) Eversole of Pesotum, seven grandchildren: Hanah (Kyle) Britt of Ogden, George Andrew Crawford of Villa Grove, Laran (Erin) Crawford of Tuscola, Melanie Allen of Villa Grove, Spenser, Breleigh, and Maris Eversole all of Pesotum, one great-grandson: Ethan Allen of Villa Grove, sister: Norma Cekander of Sadorus, mother-in-law: Alberta Dallas of Tuscola, sister-in-laws: Mary Lou Allen of Champaign, Alice (Jerry) Johnson of Arthur and Becky (Gary) Kappes of Tuscola, and brother-in-law: Scott Dallas, Tuscola.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers.

Larry started his own accounting business in 1969, Allen's Tax Service of Tuscola, which still continues. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. His hobbies included collecting International tractors and memorabilia, traveling in their motor home with his wife of 51 years, and he loved spending time with his family.
