"Jared SKINNER...went early to Shelburne, Mass., where he held numerous town offices; Revolutionary soldier; came to W[aitsfield] 1795; charter member of church, 1796; treas. 1798, 1803; selectman, 1797, 1799, 1800;...He married, Nov. 19, 1779, at Shelburne, Abigail Nims, who d. Mar. 11, 1831, ae. 73."
